I hadn't seen Tracy in 10 days or so and had not experienced first hand all of the progress she has made. Well I saw her yesterday. WOW. What a difference. I walked in the room and she stood up and hugged me. With both arms. This is huge. It was one thing to hear that she was walking and doing well in rehab, but it was an entirely different thing to see her effortlessly do these tasks. She walks with no braces or supports. She doesn't have a ton of endurance but that is to be expected. Her right arm does have limited function, but again to be expected. I turned on one of her favorite dancing songs and she threw both arms in the air and started to break it down. It was awesome. It is still Tracy in there.
Her biggest struggle right now is speech. She comprehends a lot but can't always connect those thoughts to letters or words. She has learned to use many new sounds and learns more each therapy session. She is working so very hard. It is very rewarding to see that work making a difference. If you throw all the prayers sent her way and miracles are happening.
Perhaps of the most importance to me was seeing how happy she is. She is not giving up and rolling over. She smiles more than I have ever seen her. She is an inspiration. Her spirits have never been higher.
We now have TracyStrong bracelets available. If you would like some just let me know.
I need some bracelets please. So glad you could see her and see how much progress she has made.
